Beaver Creek Blues, Brews, and BBQ Festival Will Kick Off Summer this May

April 16, 2018

The snow may be melting but Beaver Creek is already getting prepared to kick off the summer season with their annual Blues, Brews, and BBQ Festival over Memorial Day weekend. The festival will take place in Beaver Creek Village on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and will feature events for both adults and the whole family.

While all the events should be memorable, here are our personal highlights:

SATURDAY MARCH 26TH

Craft Beer Festival

From 1 to 5 on the Centennial Lawn, $40 will get you access to brews from some of Colorado's most storied breweries. Don't miss Eagle Valley locals Vail Brewing Company and Bonfire Brewing, and Front Range powerhouses Crooked Stave and Upslope Brewing. Stem Ciders will also be there for the gluten-free folks, or anyone who is a fan of deliciousness.

Live Music from Dragondeer

Dragondeer's bluesy psych rock sound has been compared to early Zeppelin, and we can certainly see why. They are a longtime favorite on the Denver music scene and have toured all over the country. Denver Westword describes them as "bluesy and forceful", while Break Thru Radio says "Nestled somewhere between the quicksilver psychedelia of the '60s and bone-thumpin' blues from Mississippi's yesteryear, these Colorado cats have crafted a sound that is equal parts cosmic and grooving". Get out there Saturday and hear their funky sound for yourself.

2:30 to 4PM

SUNDAY MARCH 27TH

Amateur Backyard BBQ Competition

No culinary professionals or BBQ competition teams allowed at this event! Beaver Creek is looking for the best backyard barbeque master, and it's time for dad to live up to his novelty "grillmaster" apron. Each participant will be given a surprise meat and sides, and will have to wow the judges with their improvisational skill and ability to perform under pressure. It should be tons of fun!

11AM to 2PM
