Summer is back in the mountains of Colorado and Beaver Creek Resort is next on the list to finally reopen their doors. On July 1st, Beaver Creek will begin to operate for summer with the opening of the Centennial Lift. The lift will serve access to hiking and biking trails as well as scenic rides.
Yes, you read that correctly, Beaver Creek Resort will offer bike haul and downhill trails will be open to the public. This is exciting news as some people previously thought this activity would not open. As of now, it looks like the resort will open next week with over 50 miles of hiking and biking trails! Please see the summer terrain status page for updated information on what will be open.
With all those miles of trails opening, now is a great time to come out to the valley and get rid of those quarantine blues. Start your summer off right with a 4 mile hike up the Overlook Trail. Stretching from the bottom of Centennial Lift and ending up top at the lodge. If you are feeling too tired after that trek, take the lift back down for a nice scenic break. For the beginner hiker, give the Spruce Saddle Loop a try. Starting from the top of the Centennial Lift, this is only a short 1 mile loop ending back where you began.
Spruce Saddle Restaurant will also open up as a grab n' go operation offering pre packaged snacks and beverages. The restaurants and all resort transactions will also be cashless for the time being.
As with all their other resorts, Vail Resorts is asking guest to wear facial coverings when in high traffic areas such as lift lines and restaurants. The Resort and its employees have developed new procedures to ensure the safety of their guests. Please see the Beaver Creek Website for information on all the new protocols.
For lodging, the resort recommends maintaining physical distancing from other guests as well as employees. What better way to do that than to book an entire home for your stay. Check out Deluxuri and Rentalz to see what properties fit your needs.
Vail Resorts will be continue to assess the situation and expand operations over the course of the summer.
Enjoy the great outdoors!
