Start the winter season with these 3 fun family events in Beaver Creek

Following an amazing early snow fall Beaver Creek mountain started the 2018/19 season almost a week earlier offering great top to bottom skiing and a ton of festivities for the whole family. With freshly baked cookies, beautiful tree lighting ceremony and much more, the village of Beaver Creek turns into a magical land of winter celebrations and you do not want to miss it! 
 
Wednesday, November 21 - 15th Annual World's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition 
You don't want to be late for this event! Beginning at 2pm approximately 5000 cookies are going to be eaten in no more than 20 minutes and one recipe will be voted the winer. Five finalist will serve their delicious creations to an eager crowd of cookie lovers as one wins the prestigious title - 15th Annual World's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie. This year's finalists are Mogul Madness, Sweet & Salty, Brown Butter Beaver, Susie's Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies, The Brawny Baker's Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies. No doubt the culmination of this scrumptious event is the cookie tasting but the day offers much more. Music in the village and complimentary hot coco starts at 1pm, the cookie tasting is at 2pm, giveaways and dance-offs on the fountain stage are to follow at 2:30pm and Award ceremony is at 3pm. As everybody knows no amount of cookies is ever enough, so don't miss Cookie time at 3pm at the bottom of Centennial lift for another batch of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. 
 
Friday, November 23 - 38th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

A Thanksgiving week tradition, Beaver Creek's 38th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony brings families together to celebrate the magic of winter, skiing in the mountains, and the holidays. Set in the heart of Beaver Creek Village, enjoy a wide range of entertainment. Start at 3pm with family apres ski featuring Santa at Powder 8, followed by lighting of the tree, fireworks, and another visit with Santa at the Fountain Stage.  

Saturday, November 24 - Warren Miller's Face of Winter at Vilar Performing Arts Center    
There is no better way to get excited about the winter season than seeing a great ski movie paying tribute to the legendary Warren Miller.  In this 69th chapter, WME visits some of Warren’s favorite locations, from Engleberg to Chamonix, British Columbia to Alaska, Chile, Iceland, New Zealand, Washington and more. Watch as world-class athletes such as Anna Segal, Dash Longe, Forrest Jillson, Amie Engerbretson, Simon Hillis, Seth Wescott, Jim Ryan, Jess McMillan, and others carve the faces of remote mountain ranges and pursue the thrills of a life lived in high places. With two shows on Saturday, November 24 at 6pm and 9pm and another show on Friday November 30 at 7:30pm make sure not to miss this event.
