Beaver Creek approaching 100 inches of snow for the season; new openings and more

December 12, 2018

It has been an amazing start of the 2018-19 winter season.

With 95 inches recorded so far this season, it looks like the next storm will push the resort over the coveted 100 inch mark, already, less than one month into the ski season!

And the even better news is that storm is forecasted to be on its way!

Snow is expected to roll in to the Beaver Creek area between 2-4pm on Wednesday, with about 3-6 inches expected.

Beaver Creek currently has plenty of terrain open for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy.

The Grouse Mountain and Larkspur chairs both opened on Dec. 6 following a 21 inch snow week in Beaver Creek and on Saturday, Dec. 8, the resort began operating the Riverfront Gondola (#7), Lower Beaver Creek Mountain Express Lift (#15), and Upper Beaver Creek Mountain Express Lift (#18).

The Talons, Beano’s Cabin and Zach’s Cabin restaurants are also open now.

And with the Riverfront Gondola now running, guests who are not staying in Beaver Creek but want to access the resort can park in the town of Avon and use either the gondola or the town's skier shuttle to get to the mountain.

Town of Avon buses will transition to the full winter schedule on Friday, December 14th. The new schedule, which will run through March 31st, will provide 15-minute service on the Skier Express Shuttle during peak times, and 30-minute service during non-peak times. The Skier Express Shuttle operates from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, Avon's Restaurant Shuttle will provide daily evening service from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. through April 14, 2019. The Restaurant Shuttle provides an evening connection between Avon and Beaver Creek for those wishing to dine at any of the fine restaurants within the Town of Avon and Beaver Creek Resort.

Avon’s free public parking provides convenient access to Avon’s free in-town bus service, including the Skier Express Shuttle with direct access to Beaver Creek Village. All public parking, including more than 100 spaces on Lake Street and in the old town hall parking lot at 1 Lake Street, is within a short walk to a bus stop and the Riverfront Express Gondola, which takes skiers and riders directly to Beaver Creek Landing.

Bus schedules are available online at www.avon.org/bus, at Avon Town Hall, and on the buses.
