Beaver Creek is now open for the season with multiple lifts going for guests to enjoy.
It was a rare early opening for Beaver Creek, which traditionally opens the day before Thanksgiving. But Beaver Creek has already received more than 50 inches of snow this season, making this opening day a nice one with more than 260 acres to enjoy.
The resort's newest lift, the Red Buffalo Express, was one of the lifts already running on Opening Day, servicing the upper part of the mountain where the snow is nice and soft. Last season, that lift didn't open until Dec. 22, about five weeks from now, as a comparison to exemplify how much better this season is looking than last season.
In addition to Red Buffalo Express, Cinch Express was also running on the top of the mountain, for plenty of open terrain along with Chair 6. Going top to bottom, that's a long run that's sure to get the blood flowing in those early season legs.
On the same day Beaver Creek opened, another 5 inches fell that night, making the second day of the season a nice powder day. The mid season base is about 18 inches.
More snow is in the forecast for the end of this week.
