Early Season Festivities in Beaver Creek

It you haven’t booked an early season trip to Beaver Creek, do it now. With plenty of snow in October and cold November temperatures the mountain is set to start the 2019/20 season on November 27th. Besides great early season conditions Beaver Creek also has an amazing line up of November and early December events. Holiday market, world class ski racing and winter wine tours are just a few of our favorite events. Check out our list below and make sure you don’t miss on the fun. 

Opening Day — 11/27
Join the excitement in celebrating the beginning of another amazing Beaver Creek ski season. The wait is finally over and the crowd is overjoyed to get first tracks on the first day of the winter season. As per tradition there will be people lining up from the early hours of the morning trying to win the bragging rights to be on the first chair of the season. But even if you don’t feel like waking up in the middle of the night to stay in line you still can join the celebration with many giveaways, live music and the Beaver Creek famous cookies. 
 
Cookie Competition —11/27
Come to Beaver Creek Village on Wednesday afternoon for this early season sweet tradition. Music begins in village at 1pm, guests can enjoy hot cocoa being served and begin lining up to taste cookies. Tasting booklets will also be available for guests to jot down notes on their favorite cookies. When the bell rings at 2pm cookie enthusiasts can start tasting the delicious creations offered by the five finalists, which this year are: Pumpkin Monster, Mountain Mom Cookies, Chewy Chawklit Oatmeal Chippers, Chair 4 Chips and Sugar Monster. Dance off the sugar and get some giveaways at the fountain stage at 2:30pm and stick around till 3pm for the award ceremony. 
 
39th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony — November 29 
This is a great family tradition that officially marks the start of the holidays and is not to be missed. Beaver Creek is transformed into a magical winter wonderland with excitement and activities for all. The Holiday Market in the Village will be open from 1 to 5 pm offering a great opportunity for early gift shopping. Powder 8 will host a Santa Workshop from 3 to 5 pm, and the culmination of activities will be the lighting of the tree and a holiday fireworks show scheduled for 5 to 7 pm. 
 
2019 Birds of Prey Audi FIS Ski World Cup — December 5-8 
Come to Beaver Creek in early December to experience the euphoria that spreads across the village as it becomes a ski racing hot spot for the weekend. Beaver Creek World Cup weekend starts with the Thursday evening welcome party featuring DJs, bar specials and a lot of giveaways in the participating restaurants. Races start in Friday December 6 with Super G, Downhill is on Saturday and the Giant Slalom race schedule for Sunday. 
 
Warren Miller’s Timeless  — December 6-7
There's no better way to get excited about the start of another ski season than a ski and snowboarding movie. "Timeless," presented by Volkswagen, features ski legends like Glen Plake alongside newcomers like Jaelin Kauf, who was born in Vail, shot on location in British Columbia, France, Austria, Switzerland, Colorado and Jackson Hole. Attendees will receive lift ticket discounts, free swag and more.
 
Allie’s Cabin Family Dinner — starting December 10 
What better way to start the holiday than a magical on mountain dinner at Allie’s Cabin? Arrive via open air sleigh ride and delight in a warm welcome with plush lodge slippers. Be treated to a three-course dinner for adults — complete with a children’s buffet offering (available for children 12 and under).
 
Winter Wine Excursions — Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday starting December 17
Winter Wine Excursions are a unique way to experience a different side of Beaver Creek with a guided snowshoe tour and wine pairing. The adventure begins with a ride up the Strawberry Park Express chairlift to McCoy Park, where all ability levels enjoy a guided snowshoe tour while taking in some of the best views around. Following the tour, The Osprey Fireside Grill welcomes guests into its slope-side mountain-modern elegance, where Executive Chef Ryan Murray serves a delicious assortment of charcuterie carefully paired with select wines.
