February Brings Snow to Beaver Creek

February 19, 2021

February 2021 has started off with a bang! With tons of fresh snowfall, this is looking like the perfect time to head to Beaver Creek and hit the slopes.

After a slow start to the season, Beaver Creek is finally starting to catch up to its median snowfall. Last week, a massive amount of snow was dumped across the property. 24 inches fell on Beaver Creek, leading to reinvigorated ski conditions.

Seasonal totals are surging past 150 inches, with plenty more to come (good thing, too, since the snowfall will need to double to measure up to typical averages). OpenSnow shows that there have been alternating dry days and ultra-snowy days throughout the month. Those snowy days have been enough to improve the ski season vastly!

What does this mean for you? Backcountry skiing is quite dangerous at the moment, as avalanche risk is high, but resort skiing, which is well-maintained and protected, is looking excellent.

According to OpenSnow, the last five days have brought 8 inches of snow, and this weekend is expected to bring 7 more. This bodes well for skiers looking to tackle some winter runs!
